The Volpe Center plans to solicit sole source through Simplified Acquisition procedures from Bedford Associates, Inc., Bedford, MA, to provide support required to continue the Center?s ability to provide a highly responsive, engineering design capability related to special instrumentation on a Piper Aztec F, which is equipped with custom designed power and computing equipment. The contractor will be responsible for providing a Piper Aztec F Aircraft, engineering support for the existing equipment and engineering services to modify/design and install equipment to meet new objectives. Small Business firms classified under SIC Code 8711 that are interested in proposing on this requirement must demonstrate in writing no later than 15 days from the date of this publication that they are abl e to translate research requirements into hardware and software that is compatible with the research platform and can meet FAA certification, must have extensive experience in flight operations and the Air Traffic Control system and detailed experience with aircraft navigation and flight control systems and provide required aircraft. Small Business firms are required to submit documentation in support of the above, for review, prior to receiving a solicitation. A single award will result from this solicitation. This proposed action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority 6.302.
