The contractor shall ensure that all necessary clinical laboratory services are performed at an accredited and certified laboratory facility. The laboratory must be accredited by one of the following agencies: The College of American Pathologists (CAP), Joint Commission of the Accreditation of Healthcare Organization (JCAHO) or the State Health Department. The contractor shall provide routine and emergency laboratory testing services, which include, but are not limited to: analysis and interpretation of specimens submitted (blood and serum, urine, cultures of exudate, biopsies of tissues and microscopic examination of slides). The contractor will be required to provide daily courier service, to pick up the specimen(s), Monday through Friday, between the hours of 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. The contractor's regular fee schedule will be required with the submission of the bid. The anticipated issue date of solicitations is August 3, 1998, with an anticipated receipt of offers due by August 31, 1998.
