Shenandoah National Park Project PRA-SHEN 2D2 consists of the rehabilitation of the Thornton Gap interchange ramps and rehabilitation of the upper and lower parking lots at the Panorama Restaurant. The work includes the removal of asphalt pavement, the placement of aggregate base and hot asphalt concrete pavement, lining pipe culverts, and other miscellaneous work. Principal items of work and approximate quantities are as follows: Roadway Excavation: 6,200 m3; Aggregate Base: 12,000 metric tons; Hot Asphalt Concrete Pavement: 6,150 metric tons; Pipe Culvert Lining: 1,400 meters; Earthwork Geotextile: 24,500 m2.
