braces for a 4-strand wire fence at Fort Bowie National Historic Site,
National Park Service. Fort Bowie is eight miles south of the town of
Bowie in southeast Arizona. Fence wire is smooth on top and bottom and
center wires are barbed. All materials will be furnished by the
Government. Transportation is the responsibility of the contractor.
Solicititation will offer quoter the opportunity to price based on
Government-furnished transportation as an alternate item. Materials may
need to be packed in as not all sites are vehicle-accessible. The
terrain is irregular with rock outcrops and ravines. Vegetation cover
ranges from grass openings to wooded drainages. Estimated start work
date is October 1, 1998. Number and location of braces and corners
currently unknown, but will be specified in solicitation package.
Estimated price range is $25,000-$100,000. Contractor will be required
to pay Davis Bacon wage rates and also will be required to provide a
payment bond in theamount of 50% of the awarded contract. FAX bid
