Z -- REPLACE ROOF TRUSSES, BLDG. 2243, FORT SILL, OK SOL DABT39-98-R-0005 DUE 083098 POC Laurie Wheeler, Contract Specialist, (580) 442-3225 or 442-4315 The work to be performed includes the following principal features: Removal of the built-up roofing, wood decking, wood timber trusses and all other associated items and the installation of a new roof system. The new roof system consists of a new rigid frame steel superstructure, open web bar joist, structural metal deck, insulation and pre-finished corrugated metal roof and wall panels. Corresponding work involves the removal and replacement of building systems affected by the roof repairs. This includes the building's heating, ventilation, air conditioning, power and lighting, fire suppression, communications and warehousing systems. Work incidental to the truss replacement includes the renovation of existing toilet facilities, office areas, the construction of a new semi-permanent administration building adjacent to the site and the demolition of portions of the existing building. The foregoing outline of principal features does not in any limit the responsibility of the Contractor to perform all work and furnish all materials required or associated with type of work. The estimated date for receipt of proposals is August 31, 1998. The project is priced with a base bid item and ten optional items. The base bid item is funded and the optional items are subject to the availability of funds. The total estimated price range of this project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. This procurement is a total 8(a) small disadvantaged business set-aside and is limited to Oklahoma firms. Proposals from firms other than those certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) shall not be considered for award. The Standard Industrial Classification Code (SIC) applicable to this acquisition is 1541 ($17 million). Negotiations will be conducted directly between the Directorate of Contracting, Fort Sill, OK, and interested eligible 8(a) firms.
