This is a combined synopsis/Request for Quotation (RFQ) for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation. Quotes are solicited with this notice. A written quotation will not be issued. The quotation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC) 90-46. The Television-Audio Support Activity proposes to procure sixty-five (65) each statistical multiplexer; eight channel; rack mountable; port speed: minimum of 19.2KBPS; simples (one way operation -- no handshaking); for use with Scientific Atlanta Power-Vu satellite transmission system (point to multipoint receive only locations); includes rackmount kit; power requirements: 110/220VAC, 50/60HZ (auto switchable). Manufacturer's standard commercial warranty is required. Data Comm for Business, Inc. part number SR-08/110/220V. FOB Destination point is McClellan AFB, CA. Required delivery is twenty (20) days after receipt of order. The Government anticipates negotiating and entering into a contract on a sole source basis with Data Comm for Business, Inc. 807 Pioneer, Champaign, IL 61820, in accordance with FAR 13-106.2(a)(5), the only source reasonably available. A market survey for this requirement was conducted in May/June but it failed to produce any other sources which could meet the agency's requirements. However, all responsible sources may submit a quote which shall be considered by the agency. Offeror's proposing other than the requested item must include specification data sheets/brochures, etc., sufficient to enable the Government to determine the capability of the offered item to meet the specifications as stated in this notice.
