Energy (DOE) is seeking a research scientist with a PhD in plant
pathology or related field to study the effects of nutritional,
environmental and pathological stresses on plants. The candidate must
have a proven record in conducting research with hydroponic systems and
development of integrated pest management (IPM) programs for vegetable
and non-vegetable crops grown in greenhouses. The nature of the
research will include studies on leaf biochemistry, leaf anatomy, plant
stress detection with fluorescence and spectral reflectance systems,
and the use of advanced statistical approaches to data analysis.
Experience with tropical or sub-tropical plant diseases and insect
pests, and a proven history of multi-disciplinary collaborations with
NASA or USDA research scientists is desired. The worksite will be The
Land Pavilion at Epcot Center, Lake Buena Vista, FL. The selected
individual will be the on-site principal investigator, and must be able
to direct a research program. This individual must also be acceptable
to Walt Disney World to work at Epcot in public view. Intrested parties
