THE CORRECT DATE OF AVAILABILITY IS JULY 27, 1998. The Department of Transportation (DOT), Transportation Administrative Service Center (TASC) plans to issue indefinite quantity indefinite delivery firm fixed price multiple awards for the acquisition of professional marketing services in support of its various business practices. The TASC business practices and a description of the services provided by the TASC business practices can be found under the TASC Internet link to the DOT home page address: www.tasc.dot.gov/. Individual task orders will include, but are not limited to, the following representative marketing functions: the conduct of appropriate marketing research, developing and recommending strategies necessary for increasing product identification and stimulating demand for products/services, the identification of competitors and potential competitors, the identification of potential customer markets, the identification of potential new services and products based on current TASC capabilities, or current capabilities requiring only minor adjustment, the acquisition and assessment of customer feedback, the development of marketing plan(s) for business practices and/or individual products and services; or a plan for TASC-wide "corporate brand" services, the compilation, analysis, and retention of pertinent marketing information, product review and planning, promotional activities and materials, marketing skills training, preparation and presentation of marketing presentations at professional trade shows, conferences, and other marketing opportunities, the provision of all necessary professional and administrative services in support of carrying out one or more of the marketing services described above. This procurement is set aside for small businesses. Firms must indicate that they are a small business under SIC code 8742. It is TASC's intent to disseminate the solicitation electronically via the Internet. The solicitation will be posted under the TASC link to the DOT home page at www.tasc.dot.gov/acquisitions/procureo.htm. The anticipated release date for the formal solicitation is JULY 27, 1998. Offerors are encouraged to access the solicitation electronically versus receiving paper copies, as proposals will be due thirty days from release date.
