COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 20,1998 PSA#21403RD ANNUAL NASA/JPL SPACE SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM IN WASHINGTON, D.C. ON
OCTOBER 7 The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will
host the "3rd Annual JPL Comes to Washington: A Space Science Symposium
for Small Businesses" in the high-tech industry. The Jet Propulsion
Laboratory (JPL), an operating division of the California Institute of
Technology (Caltech), is a lead R&D center for NASA and receives an
annual budget of approximately $1B dollars. Located in Pasadena, CA,
the Laboratory has a wide-ranging charter for solar system exploration
using robotic spacecraft. Caltech is the prime contractor managing JPL
since its inception. The purpose of this one-day Symposium is to
introduce high-tech small businesses to JPL that may lack the resources
to market the Laboratory's high-tech requirements in Southern
California. The Laboratory is committed to doing business with
high-tech small busineses and seeks to expand its supplier base for
present and future technical requirements. For planning purposes, a
written expression of interest should be directed to JPL as soon as
possible. Responses should include: (1) company name; (2) attendee(s);
(3) mailing address; (4) both telephone and FAX numbers; (5) E-mail
address; (6) company size (i.e., small business, minority-owned,
woman-owned) and (7) a brief description of company technical
capabilities. Your earliest response is required as space is limited.
Further details will be posted to a website in the very near future.
