COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF JULY 20,1998 PSA#2140VERIFICATION OF METHANE CONTROL TECHNOLOGIES ATTENTION VENDORS OF
METHANE CONTROL TECHNOLOGIES. The Environmental Technology Verification
(ETV) Program, in existence since 1995, is administered by the U.S.
Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Research and Development.
It was funded by Congress in response to the belief that there are many
viable environmental technologies available that are underutilized due
to the lack of credible third-party performance testing. Southern
Research Institute operates one of the ten ETV Centers (the Greenhouse
Gas [GHG] Technology Verification Center) in partnership with the
EPA's Air Pollution Prevention and Control Division. The mission of the
GHG Center is to provide a third-party verification capability to
vendors and others that need reliable performance information on
greenhouse gas control technologies and emission monitoring devices.
The ETV-GHG Center is currently accepting applications from candidates
wishing to submit technologies for performance testing. Vendors or
others with technologies that fit the following categories are invited
to apply for independent third party verification testing conducted by
the center: 1) capture and utilize low-pressure gas leaks from natural
gas transmission station compressor seals; 2) use new and advanced
compressor seals, which control leakage from natural gas compressors;
3) micro-turbines which use low-pressure methane gas. Anyone wishing to
have their technologyh considered for testing should complete a
pre-application form. These froms can be obtained from the Center's web
page or by contacting the Center at (919) 403-0282. For further
information, contact the Center or view their web page. WEB:
