X -- COOPERATIVE THREAT REDUCTION CONSOLIDATION WAREHOUSE POC Sandy Bednoski, Negotiator, (703) 325-6762, Edward Archer, Contracting Officer, (703) 325-5028 The Defense Special Weapons Agency (DSWA) has a requirement under the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program (CTR) for three months of bridge support to provide storage, consolidation, and packing of CTR cargo. This support is currently being provided under a Navy contract that is due to expire on 31 Aug 98. A three-month period of bridge support is necessary to ensure continuity of service and support until a new contract, to be issued by DSWA is in place. DSWA plans to award a sole source purchase order to Excel Transportation Services, Inc. DSWA believes Excel is the only responsible source for this effort. Excel is currently performing this effort as a subcontractor. All inbound shipments will continue to be designated for Excel until a new contractor is selected. Excel support is essential to providing continuity in support. They are the only company with the necessary knowledge and experience to perform this effort within the required time lines.
