The work of this project includes, but is not limited to, the handling of friable materials containing asbestos which are encountered during removal and demolition operations and the incidenetal procedures and equipment required to protect workers and occupants of the building from contact with airborne asbestos fibers. The work also includes the disposal of the removed asbestos-containing materials, and the removal of a steel water tank. The asbestos pipe insulation, wrap, and board are located in the Coach House and Pavilion (Visitor Center) on the grounds of the Vandearbilt Mansion. The work also includes the reinsulation of all piping, and duct work where asbestos has been removed. Reinsulation of boiler is not required. The estimated construction range of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. This solicitation is issued pursuant to P.L. 100-656, Small Business Competitive Demonstration Program, and is open to all size firms.
