Ultrasonic Ranging and Data System (USRADS) -- This US Navy activity plans to obtain the CHEMRAD Tennessee Corporation, 733 Emory Valley Road, Oak Ridge, TN 37830, Model 2200-5 system plus accessories and custom data analysis software. This system is to be used for radiological surveys and is being obtained to be used in conjunction with existing identical Navy-owned systems. This system is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and is capable of expansion by use of additional stationary receivers. It uses ultrasonics, custom instrument interfaces, radio-telemetry and electronic data recorders to automatically locate a surveyor to within 15 centimeters each second as the surveyor proceeds, collect position-correlated data for up to sixty-four environmental survey detector inputs at user specified rates up to ten times per second which are transmitted via radio-telemetry to a near-site control center for recording each second, and plotted on the control center computer screen in real-time as a series ofconsecutive color dots, showing position and indicating detector reading intensity by user specified color levels. The data analysis routines can replay the conduct of the survey under different user specified settings, perform statistical analysis of the results, print out survey maps and tabulated data, and export the data for incorporation with geographic information systems and/or analysis by other programs. The Navy does not have detailed specifications of this commercial product which will be obtained under Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Note 22 applies. Award is anticipated by 15 August.
