NOAA's National Marine Fisheries Services has a requirement for juvenile coho salmon migratory behavior to be accomplished. The study is to determine the swimming and leaping abilities of juvenile coho salmon and to understand the mechanisms that trigger upstream migration in west coast river and road culvert systems through (1) research, (2) field observations and measurements, and (3) laboratory environmental simulations. The primary products of this project will be the following: (1) design of test conditions in an artificial stream; (2) field identification of culverts; (3) interim and final data reports. The period of performance will be approximately one (1) year. The proposed contract listed herein is totally set-aside for 100% Small Business firms under SIC 8731.
