The candidate must have a proven record in conducting research with hydroponic systems and development of integrated pest management (IPM) programs for vegetable and non-vegetable crops grown in greenhouses. The nature of the research will include studies on leaf biochemistry, leaf anatomy, plant stress detection with fluorescence and spectral reflectance systems, and the use of advanced statistical approaches to data analysis. Experience with tropical or sub-tropical plant diseases and insect pests, and a proven history of multi-disciplinary collaborations with NASA or USDA research scientists is desired.
