solicitation/RFQ for commercial items prepared in accordance with the
format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information
included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only
solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation
will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the
Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). The purpose of this
procurement is to remove eleven (11) each existing air compressors of
various sizes and replace them with new ones and associated components
in accordance with the following Statement of Work: 1. SCOPE: 1.1
Title: Air Compressors: Removal and Replacement 1.2 Location of Work:
NASA Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, CA. 2. REFERENCES: a.
AHB1700-1, NASA Ames Health and Safety Manual (for perusal at NASA) 3.
REQUIREMENTS: 3.1 Remove and reinstall interferences necessary to
accomplish the requirements of this statement of work. 3.2 Remove the
existing and install new, the following listed air compressors (80 psig

10, Recip., 4310090010053 3.3 New air compressors shall be equipped
with new air receivers (tanks) where applicable. 3.4 New air
compressors shall be "oilless" type for 5 H. P. and under. 3.5 New air
compressors shall be provided with new electrical (NEMA 12) starter
control panels, 408/430 V, 60 Hz, 3 Phase with timers. 3.5.1 Accomplish
all electrical modifications to suit new installation of new air
compressor units. 3.6 Accomplish all piping modifications to suit
installation of new air compressors to existing systems. 3.7 Install
new auto drain piping and associated components where missing. 3.8
Install new vibration pads and fasteners on each new air compressor.
CHECK POINT (Operational Tests) 3.9 Accomplish an operational test of
each new air compressor installation, associated components, and
piping. Set and adjust all controls. Allowable leakage at new and
disturbed joints: None. 3.10 Clean, prepare, prime, and paint all new
and disturbed surfaces as a result of the requirements of this SOW.
3.11 Contractor shall comply with all local, state, and federal codes
and regulations as a result of the requirements of this SOW. 4. NOTES:

GOVERNMENT FURNISHED MATERIAL (GFM): 5.1 GFM: NONE Copies of the above
SOW will be sent upon receipt of a written/fax request by interested
parties. FAX:(650)604-7354. A job walk-through will be conducted on
July 27, 1998 commencing at building 19, room 1021 at 09:00 AM, sharp.
All interested parties shall submit the names of attending personnel
no later than 02:00 PM, PDST, July 24, 1998 to FAX: (650)604-1364. The
provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC
97-05. This procurement is a total small business set-aside. See Note
1. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this
procurement are 1711 and 7M, respectively. The quoter shall state in
their quotation their size status for this procurement. All qualified
responsible business sources may submit a quotation which shall be
considered by the agency. Project completion at Ames Research Center is
required within 30 days ARO. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The
DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9. Quotations for the items(s)
described above may be mailed or faxed to the identified point of

(650)604-1364), by the date/time specified below and include,
solicitation number, FOB destination to this Center, proposed delivery
schedule, discount/payment terms, warranty duration (if applicable),
taxpayer identification number (TIN), identification of any special
commercial terms, and be signed by an authorized company
representative. Quoters SHALL USE the Standard Form 1449,
Solicitation/Contract/Order for Commercial Items form found at URL:

quotation. Quoters shall provide the information required by FAR
52.212-1. . If the end product(s) quoted is other than domestic end
product(s) as defined in the clause entitled "Buy American Act --
Supplies," the quoter shall so state and shall list the country of
origin. The Representations and Certifications required by FAR 52.2l2-3
may be obtained via the internet at URL:

applicable. FAR 52.212-5 is applicable and the following identified
clauses are incorporated by reference. Applicable clauses are:
52.219-8, 52.222-26, 52.222-35, 52.222-36, 52.222-37, 52.225-3,
52.225-9, 52.225-21, 52.222-41, 52.222-42, and 52.239-92. Questions
regarding this acquisition must be submitted IN WRITING no later than

on August 12, 1998 to Plant Engineering Branch at the address specified
above. Award will be based upon overall best value to the Government,
with consideration given to the factors of proposed technical merits,
price and past performance; other critical requirements (i.e.,
delivery) if so stated in the RFQ will also be considered. Unless
otherwise stated in the solicitation, for selection purposes,
technical, price and past performance are essentially equal in
importance. It is critical that offerors provide adequate detail to
allow evaluation of their offer (seeFAR 52.212-1(b). Quoters SHALL
provide filled-in copies of the provision at 52.212-3, Offeror
Representation and Certifications -- Commercial Items with their quote.
