214/819-7236 The project consists of construction of a one-story
facility which will contain approximately 26,575 adjusted gross
interior square feet. The demolition portion involves clearing the site
and minor paving removal for the approaches. The new building consists
of drilled pier with cap and grade beam concrete foundation with slab
on grade. The building shell is a steel frame and concrete tilt panel
structure, with bar joists and a metal deck. A portion of the exterior
skin consists of stucco on gypsum sheathing and metal studs. Aluminum
storefronts and windows are also included in the building facade. The
main building has a combination of a modified bitumen roof and standing
seam metal roof, and there are metal roof canopies over the exterior
carrier walks. The interior spaces consist of a retail store, post
office box lobby, workroom, platform area, support areas, and
maintenance spaces. The project will also include a new electrical
service and its distribution system, plumbing, an HVAC system using
rooftop units, and a closed circuit TV system. The sitework includes
utility service connection and distribution, concrete paving,
landscaping and irrigation work and fencing, in accordance with the
plans and specifications. Successful offeror must submit their
Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority Owned, and Woman-Owned
Business. The contractor shall subcontract with minority business firms
in an amount aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its
subcontracts. Offeror must include documentation from the offeror's
bonding agent indicating the offeror's bond capability, at the time
offer is due. Performance bonds in the amount of 100% and Payment bonds
in the amount of 50% will be required from the successful offeror
within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Offers will
be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 p.m. on
August 19, 1998. Proposal documents, plans and specifications will be
available on July 22, 1998 at a cost of $150.00 per set
(NON-REFUNDABLE)payable by check or money order only. Requests for
