B -- COMPUTER MODELING FOR SEDIMENTATION ANALYSIS SOL DACW29-98-R-0027 DUE 091098 POC Patricia Perkins, Contract Specialist, (504) 862-2876 The U.S. Army Engineer District, New Orleans, LA, has a requirement for Numerical Computer Modeling in support of Sedimentation Analyses of the Lower Mississippi River. The three dimensional, mobile bed, computer model CH3D-SED will be utilized to simulate a variety of conditions on the Lower Mississippi River. Existing models (where "models" refer to the set of input files to CH3D-SED that represent a specific river condition) will be modified and new models will be created. The Corps intends to award an indefinite delivery requirements contract as a result of this solicitation. Award shall be made to the offeror whose proposal reflects the best combination of technical experience, past performance, and price. Minimally, qualified offerors must demonstrate knowledge and understanding of sediment transport, specifically as it relates to the Lower Mississippi River and Head of Passes region; experience with three-dimensional modeling of the Lower Mississippi River; experience with developing and modifying CH3D-SED computer models (input files which represent the river); and experience with the CH3D-SED computer program.
