This project is UNRESTRICTED. The Standard Industrial Code (SIC) for
this project is 1623 -- Water, Sewer, Pipeline, and Communications and
Power Line Construction. The size standard is $17.0 Million. Work
includes connecting two Central Vehicle Washing Facilities (CVWF) to
the onsite sanitary sewer systems. The first washing facility is
located at Building 27002. Demolition of this facility consists of
reworking various onsite concrete structures, an existing washing
hydrant and a gravel/silt trap. Work at this facility includes
construction of a gravity sanitary sewer system to convey effluent from
washing operations to the existing pump station (27055). Work also
includes the installation/construction of a new gravel silt trap and a
metal canopy over the CVWF. The second washing facility is located at
Building 24009. Work at this facility consists of installing a package
pumpstation, gravity sanitary sewer pipe and force main to convey
effluent from washing operations to the existing manhole. Work also
includes routing electrical wiring to the control panel and the
installation of a riser structure in the Sedimentation Basin. The date
of availability of the solicitation is 4 August 1998. The bid opening
date is 03 September 1998. Requests for plans and specifications may
be mailed to the above address, Attn: Code 202 or requests may be sent
via facsimile using fax # (703) 784-2124. No phone requests will be
accepted. Contractors within the local area are encouraged to pick up
a copy of the plans and specs at the office of the Officer in Charge of
Construction, Building 2004. The hours of operation are 7:30 am to 4:00
pm, Monday through Friday. Please note that the Plans and Specs will be
issued on a "first come, first serve basis". There will be no charge
for these documents, however, there will be only one set issued per
contractor. The estimated cost range is between $100,000.00 and
