Catherine Guerra (215) 897-7898 E-MAIL: Click here to contact the
contracting officer via, guerra@mailgate.navsses.navy.mil. The
Carderock division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center(CDNSWC),
Philadelphia PA, intends to award a contract on a sole source basis to
Marotta Scientific Controls, Inc. NSWC-CD requires fifty-four (54) 1/2
inch Smart Valves, Model MV286S and ten (10) 3/4 inch Smart Valves,
Model MV286S. The Navy requires the Chilled Water Valve to have an
operating pressure of 5-150 PSIG, Continuous Duty, 120 VAC, 14 Amp at
20 degrees C, cast aluminum bronze body material, 300 and 400 Series
Stainless Steel trim, polypropylene poppet, aluminum bronze seat,
fluorocarbon seals, -20 degrees F to + 300 degrees F, operating
temperature, and an UESB sweat fit pipe connectio. These valves
incorporate Echelon LONWORKS -- compatible electronics for integration
into an n intelligent network. Marotta provides LONWORKS embedded
controllers with Echelon 3150 Neuron microprocessor and FT-10 free,
free topology transceiver. The Marotta valve provides the capability to
selectively fail open or closed. The MV286A Chilled Water Valve is an
air conditioning solenoid operated chilled water valve, which includes
an on/off control, LONWORKS networked indication of valve position and
an error detection system. The electronics is capable of handling
additional functions such as, pressure, temperature, and flow. The
valve actuator sensor electronics consists of a motherboard,
transformer, power supply, relay, fuse, transistor, service switch,
service LED, Status LED, and a control module which contains a flash
programmable NEURON chip. The valve interconnection consists of free
topology network connection transceivers, input powr (+28/+48 VDC/115
VAC), and valve input and output. All responsible sources may submit
their request by COB on the above date. All offers will be considered.
