Two packers will be used together to straddle a short interval of borehole for the purpose of performing in situ stress measurements and a third packer of the same type will be used separately as an impression packer when wrapped with impression rubber. All three packers shall have a design working pressure of 15,000 psig. The packers will typically be used in boreholes drilled in undergound mines, either into the roof, floor or rib (walls) of the mine. Correction is made to this synopsis which was dated July 20, 1998.
