THIS NOTICE CONSTITUES THE SOLICITATION. THERE WILL BE NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE. Peace Corps requires a Pre-Service Training Director for its program in Bangladesh for the period 9/20/98 to 2/9/99. Responsible and accountable for the overall leadership, management, administration, coordination or the Pre-Service Training. He/she is the person most responsible for directing trainee learning, monitoring training staff performance and is liaison person for the training with staff and host country agencies. Duties: oversees all aspect of PST and oversees all senior training staff (Language Coordinator, Techinical Trainer; responsible to Peace Corps staff in all matters of communication, including periodic reports, trainee evaluation and documentation of training activities; serves as chief administrator of all training activities including business duties; responsible for curriculum development and majority of training classes for all sectors of training not under the purview of the Language Coordinator andthe Tecnical Trainer which includes cross-culture, development theory and practice (community development, role of Volunteer in development, gender and development), Peace Corps orientation, and Volunteer adaptation. Prepares training calendar of events, syllabus, Training of Trainers (TOT) schedules, and orientation schedule at least three weeks in advance. Directs TOT. Supervises Trainee housing assignments and conducts period visits to Volunteer host families. Assures integration between language, cultural, technical and health/safety aspects of thhe training program. Qualifications: Minimum Master's Degree in relevant field; directly-related training and design experience in Peace Corps training programs. Region specific experience a definite plus.
