Culp, Contract Specialist, 870/543-7459 The National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) has a requirement for the construction of pressurization/filtration shelters at Jefferson, Arkansas. The filtration and pressurization systems will be add-ons or modifications to existing air handling unit equipment in Buildings 54 and 10. The work includes but is not limited to installation of a new fan and air filtration unit to be interfaced with the existing air handling systems currently serving the buildings; installation of a new HVAC system for the existing JC80 area of the second floor of Building 54; provide controls to monitor and control building over-pressure during emergency operation; provide emergency power for the filtration/pressurization system controls; provide an emergency electric generator to service both buildings; provide emergency lighting and provide door switches that allow entry to the space. The project is subject to availability of funds. The magnitude of construction is between $250,000 -- $500,000. A pre-bid conference and site visit will be held at the NCTR around mid August 1998. The specific date, time and location will be provided in the solicitation documents. Tentative issue date for the solicitation is August 7, 1998; tentative bid date September 7, 1998. Solicitation documents will be available at a $30 per set non-refundable charge. Payment must be made by company check or money order and made payable to the Food and Drug Administration.
