Z -- SECURITY IMPROVEMENTS SOL 482980-98-A-0559 DUE 081498 POC Lisa Salas, Facilities Contract Specialist, 214/819-7208 This solicitation is for construction of security improvements to the existing Downtown Station in Waco, Texas. The work includes but is not limited to sitework, demolition, painting, metal doors, metal frames, door hardware, metal fabrications, security systems and electrical, in accordance with plans and specifications. The building is occupied and the work will require coordination with the existing building tenants. Estimated cost range is between $450,000 to $500,000 and construction time is 270 calendar days. Pre-proposal conference to be held at subject site on 7/28/98 at 11:00 am. Successful offeror must submit their Subcontracting Plan for Small and Minority Owned and Woman-Owned Business. The contractor shall subcontract with minority business firms in an amount aggregating not less than 10% of the total value of its subcontracts. Offeror must include documentaiton from bonding agent indicating offeror's capability at the time offer is due. Performance bonds in the amount of 100% and Payment bonds in the amount of 50% will be required from the successful offeror within forty-eight (48) hours after notification of award. Offers will be received in this office, prior to, but not later than 3:30 pm on August 14, 1998. This is a request for proposals, therefore, no public opening will be conducted. The relative standing of offeror will no longer be disclosed due to the new performance evaluation factors as outlined in the solicitation package. The Postal Service will award a contract resulting from this solicitation to the responsible offeror whose proposal conforming to the solicitation offers the best value to the Postal Service.
