proposals to construct a new battery room and repair the area at the
Boston, MA Processing & Distribution Center at 25 Dorchester Ave. Work
includes, but is not limited to, structural/architectural, plumbing,
HVAC, electrical, and other related work. The estimated cost of the
work is between $800,000.00 and $1,200,000.00, with completion within
one hundred ten (110) calendar days after receipt of notice to proceed.
Sealed offers will be received in this office prior to, but no later
than, 4:00 p.m. on August 21, 1998. Offers will not be publicly opened.
The number of offers received, the identity of the offerors, the amount
of any offer, or relative standing of the offerors WILL NOT BE
DISCLOSED TO ANYONE until award of contract is made. Proposal
documents, plans and specifications will be available o/a July 23, 1998
at a cost of $50.00 per set (non-refundable) from the Facilities
Service Office, U. S. Postal Service, 6 Griffin Road North, Windsor, CT
06006-0300. Certified checks or money orders only will be accepted,
made payable to the Disbursing Officer, U. S. Postal Service (Reference
Solicitation No. 082530-98-A-0189). Plans may be inspected at the
issuing office and information regarding their availability may be
obtained by contacting Patricia M. Sullivan at (860) 285-7188.
Questions concerning the technical aspects of the proposal should be
directed to Steven Tyler at (617) 625-4696. There will be a preproposal
conference for this project on Monday, August 3, 1998 at 10:00 a.m. in
Room B-27 of the P&D Center at 25 Dorchester Ave. Prospective offerors
are encouraged to attend. Offerors wishing visit the site at a time
