This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a Commercial Item prepared
in accordance with the format in FAR Subparts 12 and 13 as supplemented
with additional information included in this notice. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT
CONSTITUTES THE ONLY SOLICITATION TO BE ISSUED; quotes are being
requested and NO FURTHER WRITTEN SOLICITATION WILL BE ISSUED. The
solicitation number for this Request for Quote is N0464A-98-Q-0054 and
closes on, 10 Aug 1998, 4:00 p.m. Eastern Time. This solicitation and
incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through
Federal Acquisition Circular 97-04. The Federal Supply Code is 2090.
This requirement is a fixed price order with an option as follows: Item
0001: Qty 550 each, Diver Timer Depth Gage, Beuchat Part Number 341101.
Delivery required by 1 December 1998. The DTDG must be IAW NAVSEA
Drawing -- 6196238—Gage, Divers Timer/Depth (DTDG) and shall
include the following Salient Characteristics: *The DTDG must meet the
critical nonmagnetic test requirements of MIL-M-19595, *The dimensions
of the DTDG provide proper fit to a specially designed rubber boot
which mounts to the Secondary Display of the MK 16 Underwater Breathing
Apparatus (UBA). No other size or shape gage will fit.; *The DTDG must
operate to a depth of 330 feet of sea water; *The DTDG must record the
duration of the dive up to 19 hours and 59 minutes; *The DTDG must
indicate the current water temperature from 27 degrees Fahrenheit to
120 degrees Fahrenheit; *The DTDG must be able to be stored at
temperatures from 10 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit; *The
DTDG operating battery life must be 300 hours minimum; *The DTDG must
have a low battery warning indicator which flashes when there is 10
hours of battery life remaining; *The DTDG must have a low battery
warning indicator which is constantly displayed when there is 3 hours
of battery life remaining; *The DTDG must be able to store the last
nine dives in retrievable memory; *The DTDG must not have an audio
alarm. An audio alarm would be dangerous in this application; *The DTDG
must meet accuracy limits in displaying Depth in Feet of Sea Water. For

Option for Diver Timer Depth Gage, Beuchat Part Number 341101. Diver
Timer Depth Gage must have the same salient characteristics as line
item 0001. Contracting Officer will provide notice to contractor of
intent to exercise this option no later than 365 days from date of
award of basic contract. The following clauses and provisions are
applicable and hereby incorporated into the solicitation by reference:
The contractor certifies that the items provided are Year 2000
compliant. The term "Year 2000 compliant" is defined at FAR Part 39.002
as follows: "Year 2000 compliant means, information technology that
accurately processes date/time data (including, but not limited to,
calculating, comparing and sequencing) from, into, and between the
twentieth and twenty-first centuries, and the years 1999 and 2000 and
leap year calculations. Furthermore, Year 2000 compliant information
technology, when used in combination with other information technology,
shall accurately process date/time data if the other information
technology properly exchanges date/time data with it. "FAR 52.212-1,

Payments. Offerors are required to complete and include a copy of the
