E-MAIL: Sue DePew, sue.depew@msfc.nasa.gov. THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES
AMENDMENT NO. 01 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR Cylindrical Vacuum
Chambes. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote.
This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ
and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this
amendment is to provide clarification of questions/issues with the
specifications as follows: Small Chamber: The 6 foot length refers to
the length of the cylindrical portion of the chamber. When you add on
the length of the domed end caps the total length of the vessel
increases to 8 feet. Each half section of the chamber includes a 3 foot
cylindrical part and a 1 foot radius domed access door part. The 2 half
sections should fit together at the end opposite the domed access door
to form a complete chamber 8 feet long. One of the half sections has
(12) 4" flanges mounted in 4 sets of (3) along the length. Each set of
(3) flanges is offset 90 degrees circumferentially around the half
chamber. There is an additional 4" flange on the end cap. There are
thus (13) 4" flanges on this half section of vacuum chamber. The other
half section has (11) 4" flanges and (1) 6" flange mounted in 4 sets
of (3) along the length. Each set of (3) flanges is offset 90 degrees
circumferentially around the half chamber. There is an additional 4"
flange on the end cap. There are thus (12) 4" flanges and (1) 6" flange
on this half section of vacuum chamber. Large Chamber: In port
descriptions: "90 flange" refers to polar angle -- 90 flange -- bolted
10" OD, 7.81" bore. Graining will be acceptable. The due date for
receipt of offers is extended to July 31, 1998. Companies shall provide
the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA
Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on July 1, 1998. Documents related
