IM9/977-6. This fiber should come in the form of a slit tape that is .125 inches wifr abf 150 gsm weight. The fiber should be impregnated with the 977-6 resin system (41% by weight). It is desirable that the fibers be wound on three inch diameter spools that weigh about eight pounds each. ITEM 2, Quantity 300 pounds. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from either CytecFiberite, 501 W Third Street, Winona, Minnesota or Hexcel, 9831 S. 51st Street, Suite E-126, Phoenix, Arizona. This sole source is based on FAR 13.106-2(5). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have three days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the three days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
