Weather Service (NWS) Operational Support Facility (OSF) requires the
second year funding of an existing project in applied research between
the Cooperative Institute for Applied Meteorological Studies at Texas
A&M University (CIAMS), the National Severe Storms Laboratory (NSSL)
and the Houston Weather Service Office which requires the continuation
of the same type of analysis performed in the previous contract. This
includes, the design and validation of a multi-sensor damaging wind
algorithm in a semi- tropical regime, determining the range dependency
of parameters used in the algorithm, improving the algorithm
performance, and determining the benefit of including cloud-to-ground
lightening information in the algorithm. No RFQ is available. This
announcement is being issued under the Simplified Acquisition
Procedures, FAR Part 13 (NTE $100,000.00). It is the intent of the
government to award on a sole source basis to CIAMS Texas A&M Research
Foundation, College Station, TX. JACQUELINE WRIGHT, Purchasing Agent.
