Army Aviation and Missile Command, Multiple Launch Rocket System
(MLRS) currently has a requirement for the acquisition of 103 Reduced
Range Practice Rocket (RRPR) Pods using salvaged Tactical rocket pod
containers (RPC) previously delivered to the government. The
requirement will also cover an option for up to 242 RRPRs. The
contractor shall take unacceptable or damaged MLRS tactical rockets,
salvage the usable parts and build MLRS RRPRs. Delivery of hardware
shall begin no later than 300 days after award/option exercise and
delivery of completed RRPRs shall begin no later than 3rd Quarter FY
00. Offerors must be approved and qualified. This proposed contract
action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to
solicit and negotiate with only one source. Suggest that small
business firms or others interested in subcontracting opportunities in
connection with this procurement make contact with the firm listed.
The RFP shall be issued to Lockheed Martin Vought Systems (LMVS), P.O.
Box 650003, MS MC-09, Dallas, Texas 75265-0003. LMVS is the prime
contractor responsible for the research, development, and production of
the MLRS. Potential offerors are encouraged to pursue qualification for
future buys in accordance with MICOM Pamphlet 702-1 available through
