consists of two phases: Phase 1 consists of approximately 9,732 cubic
yards of excavation for a new meandering stream channel with curved
pool areas and straight riffle areas. The excavation will be stockpiled
over the winter (1999) in areas adjacent to Bailey Creek. Large woody
debris will be placed in the new channel in curved pool sections and
the channel will sit over the winter (1999) to stabilize. Phase 2
consists of diverting Bailey Creek into the new channel, plugging
segments of the old channel with stockpiled embankment, creating pond
outlet areas and dips in the existing road, constructing a road ford
through the new channel, removal of one bridge, moving one bridge to
construct a trail bridge, erosion control and road closure device
placement. This project is located on the Siuslaw National Forest,
Mapleton Ranger District, Lane County, Oregon. The Contractor shall
furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies
(except those designated as Government-furnished) and incidentals to
accomplish all work necessary. Contract time is 500 calendar days after
receipt of the Notice to Proceed. Government estimate is between
S100,000 and S250,000. Bonding is required. Estimated start work date
is July 15, 1999. This solicitation is not set-aside for small business
