10 -- M2A, DMR STOCK SOL M67854-98-R-2150 DUE 080798 POC Peggy Smith 703-784-5826 x252 / FAX 703-784-5826 The Marine Corps Systems Command intends to negotiate a sole source, commercial item contract with Macmillan Fiberglass Stocks of Phoeniz, AZ. The contractor will be responsible for providing 253 each DMR M2A M-14 Stocks. These items are considered a commercial type item; therefore, it is anticipated that simplifed acquisition procedures will be utilized. The Marine Corps Systems Command, Code CBG, has found through market research that the Macmillan Fiberglass DMR M2A is the only commercial standard M-14 stock which meets the requirements for the DMR as a modified M-14. This is the same stock which is currently used by the Marine Corps with the M40A1 Sniper Rifle. These stocks come with lifetime warranties, which the manufacturer honors with the M40A1 Sniper Rifle with considereable cost savings to the Marine Corps with replacements. No RFP is available for competitive bidding; however, interested parties may submit a statement of capability for satisfying this requirement, to include descriptive literature and pricing, within 15 days of this announcement to the contact person listed above. This announcement is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all proposals received by the date identified above will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
