Greene, (202) 324-3319 The Federal Bureau of Investigation has a
requirement for Night Vision Pocketscopes (NVP) for fiscal year (FY)
1999. The award of this procurement is based upon available funding in
FY 1999. A commercial item firm-fixed price, indefinite delivery,
indefinite quantity requirements contract is contemplated with an
initial award year and four one-year options. The resulting contract
will be available for other government agencies to place orders
against. The estimated minimum will be 40 NVPs during the award year
with an estimated maximum of 4,000 NVPs over the life of the contract.
The contractor shall be certified and in compliance with the
International Organization for Standards (ISO) 9001 standards. The NVP
unit is a compact, rugged, lightweight, hand held monocular night
vision device. The NVP kit shall consist of an image intensifier
assembly mounted in a metallic or a comparably rugged composite
material housing module; an objective lens assembly of focal length of
27 mm; an alternate objective lens assembly of focal length of 75 mm;
a monocular eyepiece lens assembly; a relay lens for coupling the
housing module to a closed circuit television (CCTV) camera with a 1
inch format or a photographic camera and a relay lens for coupling the
housing module to a CCTV camera with a 2/3 inch format. The housing
module shall contain the power supply, and an infrared (IR) light
emitting diode (LED). The NVP shall be equipped with a third
generation, image intensifier, 18 mm microchannel wafer. The image
intensifier assembly shall be compatible with the Litton Systems NVP
units, Models M944 and M944A. Requests for the solicitation package
