Manufacturer TEAC AMERICA, INC. P/N V-83-AB-F. S/N 50056 -- unit 1 has no video, unit 2 ejects tape in record mode, unit 3 picture distorted and carrisge warped. S/N 65011 -- recorder has had several fails in different aircraft but ops checks out on bench. S/N 651012 -- unit 1 ran for approx. 2 seconds on a/c, unit 2 has distorted video, unit 3 has broken door latch. S/N 656044 -- unit 3 will not eject tapes, ejection lever assembly does not move cassette holder forward to prevent cassette holder from locking. S/N 650044 -- unit 1 led readout on remote control unit does not work, unit 2 record mode threads and unthreads but will not pull tape, unit 3 will not eject tape when unthreaded. S/N 50032 -- units 1 and 2 will not pull tape, unit 3 has no video. S/N 50021 -- unit 1 will not thread, unit 2 threads 2 seconds then goes to unthread err, also no e to e video, unit 3 has no audio. S/N 50115 -- unit 1 does not record video, unit 2 right coaster gear drive broken, unit 3 does not always eject tape. S/N 50110 -- unit 1 has video but no colors, unit 2 has horizontal jitter, unit 3 will not thread. S/N 50108 -- unit 1 will not unthread, unit 2 video comes and goes during playback, unit 3 video jumpy. S/N 650034 -- unit 2 video noisy, needs video drum. S/N 650033 -- unit 1 and 2 bot sensor out. S/N 650014 -- needs brake mod. S/N 650195 -- unit 1 head switching too low -- audio breaking up, unit 2 cassette compartment will not eject tape, unit 3 good. S/N 650097 -- unit 1 head switching interferes with sync when played back on other hi-8 recorder, unit 2 unit err, unit 3 will not thread or eject cassette (note: this recorder has been in water, needs anti-corrosion).
