Currently, the Government is transporting blood samples to contractor's facility for speedy test results; hence, locality of testing facility must be within twenty (20) miles of medical center. Tests are to determine blood samples to be free of i.e., HIV, syphilis, hepatitis, and other screens with verification tests conducted on all suspected positives. Frequency of testing is daily, Monday through Friday, and at least stat tests on Saturday/Sunday. Stat test results must be received within 12 hours or less. Government will accept preliminary results by telephone and/or fax with hard copy to follow within seven (7) days. Estimated number of donors is 6000 per year.
