written requests for solicitations will be accepted. Furnish all labor
material and equipment necessary to rehab first class locker room at
hangar bldg., Group Astoria, Warrenton, OR. Work includes, but is not
limited to the following: (a) Remove and dispose of existing plumbing
fixtures, wall mounted light fixtures, toilet accessories, toilet
partitions & baffle screens, concrete block walls, ceramic tile floors,
setting bed & ceramic base and suspended gypsum drywall ceiling. (b)
Remove and store for reuse electric water heater, disconnect switch and
ceiling light fixtures. (c) Install new 2 x 4 wood stud and gypsum
drywall partitions, 2 x 6 ceiling joists and gypsum wallboard finish,
new fluid applied resilient flooring over new cementitious deck topping
and integral cove base. (d) Paint walls, ceiling and trim. (e) Install
metal toilet partitions urinal screens and prefabricated shower units.
(f) Install new metal lockers and benches, and toilet accessories. (g)
Install new plumbing fixtures, lavatories and fittings. (h) Install
new electric fixtures, receptacles and switches. Drawings and
specifications can be purchased on a first come, first served basis, at
the rate of $15. Requests will be accepted by mail only, and must
include payment in the applicable amount by Cashier's Check or Money
Order, made payable to the U.S. Coast Guard. Personal and Business

UTILIZED ON MAILINGS OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS. No refunds will be
made and materials need not be returned. If project is cancelled or no
award is made, cost of plans and specifications will be refunded only
on written request. Estimated Range is $25,000 and $100,000. The
performance period is 60 calendar days after receipt of Notice to
Proceed. The procurement is subject to the Small Business
Competitiveness Demonstration Program and is open to large and small
business participation. The applicable SIC code is 1542 Small business
size standard is $17.0 million. THIS IS AN UNRESTRICTED ACQUISITION
BEING SOLICITED AND ALL RESPONSIBLE SOURCES ARE ENCOURAGED TO RESPOND.

Department of Transportation (DOT Office of Small and Disadvantage
Business Utilization) has programs to assist minority, women owned and
disadvantaged business enterprises to acquire short-term working
capital and bonding assistance for transportation-related contracts.
Loans are available under the DOT Short Term Lending Program (STLP) at
prime interest rates up to $500,000 per contract to provide accounts
receivable financing. Anticipated bid issue date is 4 August 1998, with
bid opening date 30 days later. ONLY WRITTEN REQUESTS FOR SOLICITATIONS
