This is a solicitation for commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 12.6, an Invitation for Bid (IFB) will be issued on or about 8/10/98. The IFB includes requirements for a new Schlage Primus Level Four GMK Key System at Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), Long Beach, Ca. for approximately 5000 door openings in 26 buildings. Only bids from authorized distributors of the following manufacturers will be accepted: American Lock Company; Glynn-Johnson Corp.; Mag Engineering & Manufacturing; Schlage Lock Company; Zero International; Von Duprin Inc. The IFB includes a schedule of finished hardware; Computer hardware/software implementing the Schlage Primus Level Four GMK Key System; delivery and packaging requirements; training; on site coordination with VAMC, Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) to assure product quality and delivery/packaging requirements are met.
