The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Landis and Staefa, Inc., 1000 Deerfield Parkway, Buffalo, IL, 60089-4513 unless responses to this synopsis reveal that other sources are capable of satisfying this requirement. The contractor shall provide installation and maintenance on an Apogee system 600 version 3.1 to upgrade software for the existing building management system's Insight 600 version 2.6. The contractor shall provide all engineering design, materials, project management and labor to upgrade the existing Insight 600 to an Apogee 600 system. Upon completion, the contractor shall service and repair all controllers, transmitters, field panels, end devices and related equipment to operate the existing system for 1 year. Contractors having the capabilities to provide these supplies/ services are invited to submit complete documentation discussing such capabilities to the SSA within 15-calendar days from this announcement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered, solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
