The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) still intends to award a purchase order to Blake Industries, Incorporated on a sole-source basis for a positioning and shielding assembly of an x-ray beam monochromator; and a positioning assembly for an analyzer as described by the specifications included in the notice dated July 14, 1998, Submission No. 222774. This is Modification #001 to the synopsis released under Submission No. 222774 on July 14, 1998. This modification is to add that the positioning and shielding assembly of an x-ray beam monochromator; and a positioning assembly for an analyzer shall also include the following in its specifications: The required items shall include three (3) symmetric pairs of FZ intrinsic silicon 220 monochromator crystals with two channels, one a symmetric 4 bounce and the second a asymmetric, 19 degree, 2 bounce, which will accept a beam size of at least 10x1mm and include stress relief channel with a total size of 25x25x25mm. The required item shall include an asymmetric Johansson Ge 111 monochromator crystal, a equals about 150mm, b equals about 200mm, copper radiation, beam size no smaller than .2 x 12 mm. The response date has been changed to August 4, 1998 and NIST intends to award a purchase order to Blake Industries, Incorporated on a sole-source basis on or about August 5, 1998.
