A -- MEDICAID INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE PROJECT SOL HCFA-98-039/FB POC Famane Bolton, Contract Specialist, (410)786-5148 The Health Care Financing Administration intends to negotiate with the American Public Human Services Association (formerly known as the American Public Welfare Association) to continue the Medicaid Information and Assistance Project (MIAP). The project will provide information and technical assistance to aid HCFA and the states in administering the Medicaid program more effectively and efficiently. Specifically, the Project will: identify state agency experts to staff Federal Medicaid Technical Advisory Groups; recommend agenda items for key meetings involving HCFA and the State Medicaid Directors; and provide HCFA with the state perspective on Medicaid issues to ensure informed policy development, improve policy evaluations and otherwise enhance the exchange of information between federal and state Medicaid officials. The contract will also assist State Medicaid agencies with implementing a number of provisions in the Balanced Budget Act (BBA) of l997 and educating states about and/or assisting States with the implementation of several Medicaid related Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) measures.
