The National Cancer Institute intends to negotiate with United Information Systems, Inc. for a six-month extension on contract number N02-CO-40505, ADP Support Services for Cancer Information Dissemination. The contractor will continue to run the ICIC data center, and provide analysis, programming, and production support for the maintenance and delivery of ICIC products and services. This extension is at the end of a five-year contract and will allow time to conduct and complete a competitive procurement. The effort required to assume responsibility for maintenance of these systems, given the complexity of the data and the large numbers of programs involved, makes competition infeasible for only a six-month period.
