The following changes have been made to the requirement for Professional Veterinary Services: The EPA anticipates award of a fixed price purchase order using Simplified Acquisition Procedures. It is anticipated that the purchase order period of performance will be 10/1/98 through 3/31/99 and will include an option for an additional 78 days from 4/1/99 through 9/30/99. Under this purchase order, a veterinarian who is board certified by the American College of Laboratory Animal Medicine will provide on-site professional veterinary support appropriate to the needs of the EPA Laboratory Animal Care Program in the research animal facilities located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, and shall review, evaluate, and make recommendations to EPA on animal care procedures to assure quality. The contractor shall provide these on-site services nine hours per day, three days a week for the contract period. The days are anticipated to be Monday, Wednesday,and Thursday of every week. The contractor shall also provide approximately five emergency service calls within two hours of notice. The SIC code 0742 applies, size standard of $5 million in annual receipts in the preceding three years. This requirement is being conducted as a 100% small business set aside.
