On or about 8/3/98, this office will issue a Request for Proposal for building expansion at the Reedsburg WI Main Post Office. Proposals will be opened on 9/2/98 at 3:00 PM. THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC PROPOSAL OPENING. The value of the work is estimated to be between $1.2 million and $1.75 million. Description of the work is: The project consists of several separate building additions totaling 5,500 sq. ft. and extensive remodeling of the 6,810 sq. ft. existing one story structure with a basement totaling approximately 12,310 sq. ft. The additions include a retail store, entry lobby, vestibule, workroom, administrative offices, lunch room, men's and women's toilets, stairwell, monitoring station, and expansion and enclosure of the mail platform. The site work includes asphalt and concrete paving, curbs, ramps, stairs, walks, and retaining walls. The remodeling includes the existing workroom, postmaster's office, and box lobby. The building will remain occupied and in use during construction, requiring that the work be completed in phases to minimize the inconvenience and disruption to the public and the Postal Service. The site is bounded on the east by N. Walnut Street and on the south by Second Street. The contractor will be required to commence work within 10 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed and complete within 360 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be accessed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. There will be a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE FOR PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
