On or about 8/3/98, this office will issue a Request for Proposal for building expansion at the Wisconsin Dells WI MPO. Proposals will be opened on 9/2/98 at 3:00 PM. THIS IS NOT A PUBLIC PROPOSAL OPENING. The value of the work is estimated to be between $1.5 million and $2.2 million. Description of the work is: The project consists of separate building additions totaling 8,600 sq. ft. and extensive remodeling of the 4,400 sq. ft. existing one story structure totaling approximately 13,000 sq. ft. The additions include an office, storage rooms, enclosed mail platform, men s and women s toilets/locker rooms, monitoring station, workroom expansion, etc. The site work includes asphalt and concrete paving, curbs, ramps, stairs, walks, and retaining walls. The remodeling includes a retail store, Rent-A-Box lobby, and full service area. The building will remain occupied and in use during construction, requiring that the work be completed in phases to minimize the inconvenience and disruption to the public and the Postal Service. The site is bounded on the north by Minnesota Avenue and on the west by Veteran's Drive. The contractor will be required to commence work within 10 calendar days after receipt of Notice to Proceed and complete within 360 calendar days. Liquidated damages will be accessed. Performance and payment bonds will be required. There will be a NON-REFUNDABLE FEE FOR PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
