Z -- REBUILD FEEDER #1 SOL F29650-98-B0008 DUE 092198 POC Alberto Garcia, (505) 846-4674 This is a pre-solicitation notice for Invitation for Bid (IFB) Number F29650-98-B0008 on or about 21 Aug 98 with a bid opening date on or about 21 Sep 98. The Standard Industrial Classification is 1731 with a size standard of $7.0M. The magnitude of this project is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00 with a total performance period of 120 calendar days for the basic and one option. This project consists of rebuilding of Feeder #1, a 46 KV electrical overhead distribution line that serves the South and Southeast portions of Kirtland AFB. Work includes but is not limited to; replacement of deteriorated power poles, installation of new power poles, replacement of guy wires and anchors, re-tensioning guy wires, adding dampers to conductors and overhead ground wires, adding pole ground guards, wire, offsets and ground rods, replacement of crossarms. Most of the utility line is accessable by unimproved dirt roads and trails, and runs over arroyos (gulches) and hills. The option includes the substitution of polymor insulators for the porcelain insulators that are to be installed as part of the basic work. Note: Funds are not presently available for this project. No award will be made until funds are available. Kirtland AFB is using the Internet for advertising and issuing the solicitation. The Government reserves the right to cancel this solicitation, either before or after receipt of bids, with no obligation to the bidders by the Government.
