Service (USSS) has a requirement to purchase .357 SIG caliber, double
action, semi-automatic recoil operated pistols that meet the following
specifications: (a) SIZE: Height: 5.5 inches maximum, (b) WEIGHT: no
more than 29.2 ounces without magazine, (c) Overall length: 7.2inches
maximum; (d) Barrel length: 3.5 inches minimum and 4.0 inches maximum,
and (e) Magazine capacity: 12 rounds minimum and 14 rounds maximum.
The normal function of the pistol shall be single action with double
action available for first shot or second primer strike in case of
failure to fire. The pistol must be operable by a right or left handed
user, firing with right or left hand. The pistol finish shall be dark,
subdued and corrosion resistant. The pistol must be able to be fired
without a magazine inserted in the weapon. The double action trigger
pull must not weigh more than 14 pounds and not less than 9 pounds. The
single action trigger must not weigh more than 6 pounds and not less
than 3.5 pounds. The pistol must have luminous night sights, one (1)
dot on the front sight, two (2) dots on the rear sight, which appear as
three (3) illuminated dots when the weapon is held at arm's length. The
U.S. Secret Service anticipates the resultant contract will be
available to other law enforcement agencies. The pistols must be
available for purchase in large quantities and delivery shall be to the
U.S. Secret Service Training Center located in Laurel, Maryland as well
destinations throughout the United States. This procurement action will
be processed in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation Part 12,
Commercial Items. The resultant contract shall be for a base year of
twelve (12) months and four 12-month option years. Delivery schedule
for the weapons purchased under the resulting contract shall be 90 days
after receipt of an order. Release of the solicitation shall be within
fifteen (15) days of this notice. Proposals areexpected to be due
approximately thirty (30) days from issuance of the Request for
Proposals (RFP). Requests for a solicitation package must be made IN
WRITING within 15 days of publication of this notice. FAX or ELECTRONIC
REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. This solicitation package shall not be
available electronically. All requests for the solicitation package
