This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. Solicitation 98-SQ-30-0038 is issued as a Request for Quote (RFQ) and incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 97-06. This solicitation is issued under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) for Small Business-Small Purchase Set-Aside (100%). Standard Industrial Classification is 5063 and the Business Size Standard is 500 employees. The following items are required to replace out-dated original equipment in two intake towers at Hoover Dam. The following two electrical distribution panels must fit in an existing concrete recess which is 6 feet wide horizontally, 1 foot 4-1/4 inches deep, and 4 feet 1-1/4 inches high vertically, one per intake tower. The 480 VAC distribution panel will be mounted sideways with the main breaker on the left side and over half of all the subbreakers will be feeding loads downward towards existing conduits in the concrete intake towers. A single phase 120/240VAC distribution panel will be mounted on the right side. All the equipment shall be of the same manufacturer for all distribution panels, creating a uniform and UL protected product. All panels are for surface mount type. All breaker shall be of the bolt on type.
