65 -- PHARMACEUTICAL PRIME VENDOR SOL M5-Q2-99 POC Susan Massie, Team Leader, (708) 786-4925 or June Fitch, Contracting Officer, (708) 786-5174 The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Acquisition Center (NAC) intends to issue a new solicitation, M5-Q2-99, for the distribution of pharmaceutical products and selected medical/surgical products (outpatient use only) to VA healthcare facilities and other Government agencies by mid August 1998. ( Note: This solicitation is being issued to replace M5-Q1-99 which was issued on May 22, 1998 and cancelled on July 30, 1998.) If your firm is already on the Bidders Mailing List for that procurement, there is no need for your firm to request inclusion. The successful offerors must supply pharmaceuticals covered by the Federal Supply Schedule (FSS) contracts, VA National contracts, and Open Market non-contract items. Offerors are advised that certain provisions for electronic ordering, invoicing, payment, and reporting will be required as specified in the solicitation. The VA intends to issue one solicitation to cover the continental USA. For facilities in Hawaii, Alaska, Puerto Rico, and Manila, PI, it is contemplated that multiple awards will be made for these regions. The contract period of performance will consist of one base year plus four option years. No solicitation is available for distribution at this time. Small disadvantaged and/or woman owned business wholesalers are encouraged to respond.
