mcglynnsa.jast.mil. The Naval Air Systems Command has a Joint Strike
Fighter requirement for Phase III (pre-Engineering and Manufacturing
Development) of the General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE) F120
Alternate Engine Program, including, but not limited to: (1) Designing,
procuring, fabricating and assembling the F120 engine variants (CTOL,
CV and STOVL); (2) performing component, subsystem and engine testing;
(3) procuring long lead hardware necessary to meet Phase IV
(Engineering and Manufacturing Development) schedule requirements. The
above efforts will be contracted for as modification(s) against
General Electric Aircraft Engines (GEAE) Phase II contract
N00019-96-C-0176. This effort will be performed on a sole source basis.
GEAE is the sole designer and developer of the F120 engine variants,
and thus, is the only firm with the requisite knowledge, experience,
technical expertise, technical data, facilities and integration
capabilities required to perform the Phase III F120 engine variant
unique risk reduction andtechnology maturation demonstrations under the
