Officer, (256)313-4329 The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command
(AMCOM) has a requirement for technical support for the Comanche
Portable Cockpit (CPC) participation in the Manned-Unmanned (MUM)
simulation exercise located at Ft. Rucker, AL. The CPC will be
integrated with the Integrated Tactical Environmental Management System
(ITEMS), Advanced Tactical Combat Model (ATCOM), and the MUSE UAV
simulator in preparation for the formal experiment 18 September 1998
through 2 October 1998 at Ft. Rucker. AMCOM anticipates award of a
Firm-Fixed Price Purchase Order to the Boeing Sikorsky Comanche Team (A
Joint Venture). As the designer, developer, and producer of the
Comanche Helicopter and the attendant CPC, Boeing Sikorsky is the only
source with the experience, expertise and capability necessary to
accomplish this effort. This proposed acquisition is for services which
cannot be procured through full and open competition and no other
source will satisfy agency requirements. Therefore, the effort will be
sole source to Boeing Sikorsky pursuant to 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), in
accordance with (Federal Acquisition Regulation) FAR 6.302-1. Firms
that recognize and can produce the required services described above
are encouraged to identify themselves to the Contracting Officer and
provide supporting evidence to the Contracting Officer which will
permit their participation in the current or future solicitation. All
responsible sources may submit a bid/proposal which shall be considered
